WESTFIELD, NJ — A vehicle was stolen from a driveway on the 400 block of Colonial Avenue early this morning, police said.
The theft occurred around 3:25 a.m. and followed a residential burglary in which the key fob to the vehicle was taken, according to the Westfield Police Department.
Police said vehicle thefts are on the increase in the area, consistent with previous years during holiday times.
The Westfield Police Department is actively patrolling neighborhoods and taking proactive measures to prevent vehicle thefts.
Police are asking residents to remain vigilant and call 9-1-1 immediately if they see suspicious activity.
