Troopers from the Rutland Barracks were notified of a rollover crash at approximately 7:42 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. Route 7 B.

Police said Lisa Towne, 36, of Rutland, was traveling south in the passing lane of U.S. Route 7 in a 2021 Honda Pilot when she attempted to overtake a vehicle in the travel lane.

Both operators were wearing seat belts.

Towne’s vehicle sustained significant damage, while Smith’s vehicle had minor damage.
