Man arrested on harassment charge in Franklin

FRANKLIN, NY — A local man was arrested on a harassment charge following an investigation that began last month.

Randolph Bloomfield, 59, of Franklin, was arrested Sunday and charged with one count of harassment in the second degree, according to Delaware County Sheriff Craig S. DuMond.

Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a harassment complaint in the town of Franklin on Nov. 19.

During the investigation, the victim alleged that Bloomfield engaged in a course of conduct that seriously annoyed the victim, according to the sheriff’s office.

Upon conclusion of the investigation, deputies submitted documentation to the Town of Franklin Court requesting a criminal summons.

The Town of Franklin Court issued a criminal summons against Bloomfield on Dec. 11 for the charge of harassment in the second degree, a violation of the New York State Penal Law.

Bloomfield was issued the criminal summons and is scheduled to return to the Town of Franklin Court at a later date to answer the charge.
