PARIS, NY — A West Winfield man was arrested early Thursday following a one-car crash on Oneida Street.
Edwin Carlson III, 56, of West Winfield, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, a class E felony, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
Road patrol deputies responded to the property damage motor vehicle accident at around 12:05 a.m. on Dec. 19.
Upon arrival, deputies detected indicators of impairment on the operator of the motor vehicle and conducted a DWI investigation, Maciol said.
Carlson was also charged with driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.18 or more, an unclassified misdemeanor.
He was additionally charged with several other traffic violations and traffic misdemeanors.
Carlson was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing.
He is scheduled to appear in Paris Town Court at a later date.
The New Hartford Town Police Department assisted at the scene.
