Man arrested on DWI charge in Albany

ALBANY, NY — State Police stopped a vehicle on Central Avenue early Saturday morning for a vehicle and traffic law violation.

The driver was identified as Kelvin D. Buffalo, 60, of Albany.

Buffalo was arrested for driving while intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic law violations at approximately 2:52 a.m.

While being taken into custody, Buffalo became uncooperative and actively resisted arrest, police said.

A substance that field tested positive for cocaine was located concealed in his clothing.

Buffalo was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration in the second degree.

He was transported to State Police Capital for processing, where he recorded a 0.19 percent blood alcohol content.

Buffalo was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Albany City Court on Dec. 30 and released.
