Pedestrian dies after crash in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A pedestrian has died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision on Dec. 14.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Mallory Avenue and Communipaw Avenue.

Responding officers located a male victim with life-threatening injuries.

The victim was identified as Luis Caisaguano, 61, of Jersey City.

He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment.

Caisaguano was pronounced dead on Dec. 17.

The matter remains under investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
