ALBANY, VT — Vermont State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 14 on Dec. 16.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:32 a.m. near Vance Road.
Police identified the operators as Jericho Thatcher, 18, of Barton, and Shannon Smith, 46, of Marshfield.
Investigation revealed Smith was traveling north on Vermont Route 14 and was stopped for a school bus when Thatcher, also traveling north, crested a knoll behind them and could not stop in time.
Thatcher’s 2014 Subaru Legacy rear-ended Smith’s 2024 Ford Edge.
Both operators were wearing seat belts.
The front end of Thatcher’s vehicle and the rear end of Smith’s vehicle were damaged.
All involved parties reported no injuries.
Weather conditions at the time were cloudy with light snow cover on the roadway.
