EAST BRIDGEWATER, MA — Police and fire departments responded to a fatal two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning at the intersection of Plymouth and Bridge streets.
The Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting the crash at approximately 6:53 a.m. on Dec. 16.
Emergency responders located two vehicles, each with a single occupant.
The driver of one vehicle, an 86-year-old man from East Bridgewater, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the second vehicle refused medical treatment.
Plymouth Street and Bridge Street were closed to traffic for a brief period Tuesday morning while the scene was investigated.
The crash remains under investigation by the East Bridgewater Police Department, with assistance from Massachusetts State Police and State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
