HEMPSTEAD, NY — A 50-year-old man died after his pickup truck crashed into a stone wall on the Southern State Parkway on Dec. 14.
Charles F. Kenney of Seaford was driving a 2023 black Ram pickup truck eastbound on the parkway, east of Exit 25S at Newbridge Road, when he lost control of the vehicle at approximately 10:35 p.m.
State Police said Kenney was traveling at an unsafe speed and was not wearing a seatbelt.
The truck left the roadway and struck the stone wall of the Newbridge Road overpass.
The vehicle came to rest blocking the center and right lanes of the parkway.
Kenney was transported to Nassau University Medical Center with serious injuries.
He was pronounced dead by medical personnel at the hospital.
