CORTLANDVILLE, NY — Two people were arrested on shoplifting charges at a Walmart on Dec. 12.
Joshua D. McUmber, 35, of Sempronius, and Hannah P. McUmber, 25, of Sempronius, were charged with petit larceny and conspiracy in the sixth degree, both misdemeanors.
Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Walmart at 819 Bennie Road at approximately 3:50 p.m. for a reported larceny.
Authorities determined the defendants stole merchandise from the store.
Both were taken into custody and transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, where they were processed and released on appearance tickets.
They are scheduled to appear for arraignment in Town of Cortlandville Court on Jan. 5, 2026, at 1 p.m.
