Man arrested on warrant in Lincoln

LINCOLN, RI — A North Kingstown man was arrested on an outstanding warrant Sunday morning when he came to the state police barracks to file a report.

Steven Faiola, 55, of North Kingstown, was taken into custody at 9 a.m. at the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

Faiola was wanted on a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on a charge of possession of a Schedule I to V controlled substance.

The original charge stemmed from an incident investigated by the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

After being processed, Faiola was transported to Fatima Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

He was later discharged from the hospital and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men’s Intake Center.
