HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police responded to a fight Sunday morning that resulted in the arrest of a man on assault charges.
The Hanover Township Police Department responded to the incident at approximately 8 a.m. Dec. 14.
Through the investigation, Robert Roote was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment.
He was also found to have an active bench warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of fleeing and eluding.
He was arraigned in front of District Magistrate Thomas Malloy in Wilkes-Barre and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
He was subsequently remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on the warrant.
A preliminary hearing has been set for Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in Central Court.
