Driver arrested on DUI charge in Pawlet

PAWLET, VT — A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle struck a house Friday night.

Vermont State Police received a report of a single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 133 at 11:02 p.m.

Police said Michael Webb, of Pawlet, failed to negotiate a turn from Danby Pawlet Road onto Vermont Route 133 and left the roadway before striking a house.

Webb was driving a 2014 Ford Explorer that sustained moderate damage.

Police said they detected signs of impairment while speaking with Webb at the scene.

Webb was arrested and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.

He was issued a criminal citation for DUI refusal and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court Rutland Criminal Division on Dec. 29 at 10 a.m.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

Road conditions were dry and weather was cloudy at the time of the incident.
