PRINCETON, NJ — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing Nassau Street on Friday night.
The collision occurred at approximately 11:32 p.m. when a 28-year-old Princeton man was crossing Nassau Street within a marked mid-block crosswalk between Washington Road and Moore Street.
He was struck by a westbound 2015 Ford Explorer driven by a 39-year-old Princeton resident.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officers.
The pedestrian sustained a head injury and was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The Princeton Police Department, Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad, and Princeton Fire Department responded to the scene.
The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Response Team responded and assisted the Princeton Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau with the investigation.
Nassau Street was closed to all traffic for approximately three and a half hours during the investigative process, with support from the NJDOT Diversion Team.
The incident remains under active investigation.
