NEW HAVEN, VT — A two-vehicle crash occurred on U.S. Route 7 at Vermont Route 17 on Dec. 11 at approximately 8:55 a.m.
Max Kinlund, 32, of Bristol, was traveling south in a 2020 Hyundai Ioniq when he attempted to turn left into a gas station parking lot.
Jackson Hanson, 22, of Austin, Texas, was traveling north in a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Kinlund failed to yield to Hanson, who was traveling in excess of the posted speed limit.
The vehicles collided, causing the Jeep to overturn onto its passenger’s side.
Both operators were wearing seat belts, and neither sustained injuries.
The New Haven Fire Department and Bristol Rescue Squad assisted at the scene.
Kinlund was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for failing to yield while turning left, which carries a $220 fine and two points.
Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash.
