BOSTON, MA — Two men were arrested Tuesday on multiple drug trafficking charges following a search warrant execution in East Boston.
Julian Moguil Abril, 33, of East Boston, and Juan Moguil Abril, 30, of East Boston, were taken into custody by officers from the Drug Control Units of District A-7, District A-1 and E-18.
Officers conducted a drug investigation in response to multiple community complaints of illegal drug activity in the area of Maverick Square.
Search warrants were obtained and executed at 60 Lubec Street.
The target of the investigation was seen standing outside the location and was taken into custody.
Officers knocked and announced their presence before executing the search warrant.
Officers recovered approximately one-half kilogram of cocaine, several pounds of marijuana, large quantities of psychedelic mushrooms, LSD tab sheets, ketamine and MDMA.
Officers also seized approximately $12,000 in U.S. currency.
The location was determined to be within 1,000 feet of a school, and school was in session at the time.
Julian Moguil Abril faces charges of trafficking of cocaine over 200 grams, possession with intent to distribute Class A, two counts of possession with intent to distribute Class B, possession with intent to distribute Class C, possession with intent to distribute Class D, and drug violation near a school/park.
Juan Moguil Abril faces charges of trafficking of cocaine over 200 grams, possession with intent to distribute Class B, possession with intent to distribute Class D, and drug violation near a school/park.
Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
