CLIFTON, NY — New York State Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a driver who left the scene of an early morning crash.
Troopers responded to a property damage accident on State Route 3 near Newton Falls at approximately 3:06 a.m. on Dec. 10.
The New York State Department of Transportation reported a blue 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck had struck a guide rail, with no occupant at the scene.
An investigation determined the vehicle had been traveling south on State Route 3 when the operator lost control and struck the guide rail.
The vehicle is registered to Matthew P. Adams, 41, of Oswegatchie.
Adams was not located in or near the vehicle.
State Police searched the surrounding area, conducted interviews and made multiple attempts to locate Adams without success.
Adams was last spoken to on Dec. 9.
He is described as approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
