Man arrested on child exploitation charges in Herkimer County

HERKIMER COUNTY, NY — New York State Police arrested a Warren man on Dec. 9 on charges related to child sexual exploitation material.

Austin R. Sutton, 28, of Warren, faces two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony.

The investigation stemmed from an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force search warrant related to the transmission of child sexual exploitation material via the internet.

The arrest was a result of a joint investigation by members of the Computer Crime Unit – Troop D, Computer Crime Unit – Troop C, the State Police Troop D Bureau of Criminal Investigation – Herkimer, the State Police Troop C Bureau of Criminal Investigation – Richfield Springs, and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force – Albany.

Sutton was transported to the Herkimer County CAP court and was remanded to Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash, $15,000 bond, and $20,000 partially secured bond.
