MARLTON, NJ — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary at a consignment shop that resulted in the theft of $25,000 worth of designer goods.
Evesham Township patrol officers responded to Second to None Consignment at 230 North Maple Avenue at approximately 11:58 p.m. on Oct. 21 for a glass-break alarm.
Officers discovered forced entry to the front door, which had triggered the alarm.
The investigation determined that numerous designer purses, wallets, bags and jewelry were stolen.
Through investigative efforts, detectives identified the suspect as Roberto D. Alicea, 31, of Delran, New Jersey.
An arrest warrant was obtained charging Alicea with multiple offenses related to the burglary and theft.
Working in collaboration with the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department, Evesham detectives took Alicea into custody without incident at Burlington County Superior Court, where he was appearing on an unrelated matter.
As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at Alicea’s residence in Delran, where they recovered additional evidence connected to the burglary.
Detectives also recovered stolen property from a pawnshop in Philadelphia, which was returned to the victim’s business.
Alicea is currently lodged at the Burlington County Jail.
Charges filed against him include burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
