Wrong-way driver arrested on DUI charge in Waterbury

WATERBURY, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a motorist on suspicion of driving under the influence after receiving multiple reports of a wrong-way driver on Interstate 89 on Dec. 7.

Troopers received reports at approximately 10:48 p.m. of a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lane near mile marker 66.8.

The vehicle was stopped without incident.

The operator was identified as Kiana Donegan, 35, of Shelburne.

While speaking with troopers, Donegan displayed signs of impairment, police said.

Donegan was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence and was transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

Donegan was issued a citation to answer to charges of gross negligent operation and DUI.
