BERLIN, MA — Emergency crews responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Central Street this afternoon.
The Nashoba Valley Regional Emergency Communications Center received a crash detection alert from an Apple product along with numerous 911 calls at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Berlin Police Department arrived on scene and advised that there was an occupant trapped in one of the vehicles.
Berlin Fire & EMS units 6C, 6C3, 6C5, Ambulance 2 and Engine 1 responded to the scene.
Engine 1’s crew mechanically extricated one occupant from the vehicle.
The extricated occupant was transported by Ambulance 2 to a local trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The operator of the second vehicle was uninjured.
Central Street was shut down for the duration of the extrication and vehicle removal, creating a substantial traffic backup.
