Man arrested on road rage charges in Salem

SALEM, NH — A Manchester man was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly smashing a family’s windshield with a baseball bat during a road rage incident on Rockingham Park Boulevard.

The Salem Police Department received multiple 911 calls at approximately 6:25 p.m. reporting a male subject smashing the windshield of another vehicle with a baseball bat.

Witnesses reported the suspect then got into a vehicle and drove toward Route 93.

Responding officers located the victim’s vehicle in the area with a smashed-out windshield.

A family with a small child and an infant reported the suspect vehicle had cut them off in traffic and a male subject had gotten out of the car and began smashing their windshield with a baseball bat while threatening them.

New Hampshire State Police stopped the suspect vehicle on Route 93 northbound in the area of mile marker 11.

State Police detained the operator until Salem units arrived and arrested the suspect.

The suspect was identified as Anthony Bennett Rovelo Baldovino, 21, of Manchester, New Hampshire.

Rovelo Baldovino was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning before the Salem District Court.

He faces four counts each of kidnapping, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, all felonies, as well as a violation for driving after suspension.
