CHELSEA, MA — A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle on Second Street on Monday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. in the area of 275 Second Street, according to the Chelsea Police Department.
The pedestrian, a 33-year-old man from Malden, is in critical but stable condition.
The operator of the motor vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with police.
The operator was also transported to a hospital for evaluation.
Chelsea Police detectives and Massachusetts State Police detectives are investigating the incident.
No charges are pending against the operator at this time, as the crash appears to be accidental due to heavy rain and poor visibility.
