Man arrested in Norwalk on charges from Boston street takeover

NORWALK, CT — Police arrested a Connecticut man early this morning in connection with a street takeover that occurred in Boston in October.

David Antonio Moran, 18, of Norwalk, was taken into custody following an investigation by the Boston Police Department’s Auto Theft Unit, District 4 detectives and the Fire Investigation Unit.

Detectives obtained a warrant for Moran, who is also known as David Moran-Chavez, for burning of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of fireworks, disturbing the peace and conspiracy.

The charges stem from a street takeover that occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 5 in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Tremont Street in Lower Roxbury and the South End.

Boston Police executed a search warrant following the arrest with assistance from Norwalk authorities.

Moran will be arraigned in Connecticut where he will be charged as a fugitive from justice.

Two previous arrests related to the same October incident involved individuals from Rhode Island.

The investigation involved collaboration with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, Norwalk Police Department, Randolph Police, Massachusetts State Police, the National Insurance Crime Bureau and the Stamford/Norwalk Judicial State Attorney’s Office.
