NORWOOD, NY — Norwood Village Police have arrested a Potsdam woman on domestic violence charges stemming from an incident that occurred on Nov. 5.

Nichole Harmer, 43, was reportedly at the home of a female victim in the village without permission and in violation of an order of protection.

Police said Harmer chased the victim upstairs and broke down a room door to get at the victim.

She fled the scene before officers arrived.

Harmer was charged with the felonies of burglary in the first degree and aggravated criminal contempt, and with the misdemeanors of assault in the third degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

A warrant was issued for her arrest.

While officers were attempting to locate her on that warrant, Harmer was arrested by state police for another domestic incident occurring at the same residence in Norwood and against the same victim.

Harmer was held without bail in the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on those charges and arrested on the village warrant at her court appearance.

She was ordered held in jail on the village charges by Potsdam Town Judge with $25,000 bail.

She will answer the charges further in February 2026.
