Man charged with assault in Howell Township

HOWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Freehold Township man has been charged in connection with an assault that occurred last month.

Jaden Thompson, 18, of Freehold Township, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault, according to the Howell Township Police Department.

The assault occurred on Nov. 17 on Pinewood Road.

Detective Ryan Jackson identified Thompson as the suspect in the investigation.

Thompson was charged Friday on complaint-summons with endangering the welfare of a child, a third-degree offense, and simple assault, a disorderly persons offense.

Thompson is currently lodged at Ocean County Jail on unrelated criminal charges.

Police said several tips were provided by the community and reviewed during the investigation.
