Man arrested on protection order violation in Little Valley

LITTLE VALLEY, NY — A Salamanca man was arrested following an investigation into a suspicious person on Dec. 2.

John Dustin Newark, 42, of Salamanca, was located on a property on Rock City Street in violation of an active stay-away order of protection, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

Newark also had an active arrest warrant from Little Valley Town Court for second-degree assault and second-degree menacing.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

Newark was later arraigned in Ellicotttown Town Court.

He was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail and will appear in court at a later date.
