BOSTON, MA — Boston police arrested two people on separate shoplifting charges in the Back Bay neighborhood over the weekend.
At about 12:20 p.m. on November 28, officers assigned to District D-4 responded to Dick’s Sporting Goods at 760 Boylston Street for a shoplifting incident.
Officers were told a suspect had entered the store earlier in the day and loaded a tennis bag with merchandise, then placed the bag inside the store and left.
The suspect returned a few hours later and attempted to steal the items.
Officers stopped the suspect as he was leaving the store and recovered merchandise valued at approximately $745.
Yeejin Choi, 20, of Boston, was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on a charge of larceny under $1,200.
At about 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, officers conducting a walk-through inside the Prudential Mall were stopped by Sunglass Hut employees who reported a suspect had just stolen multiple sunglasses and was walking toward the mall exit.
Officers stopped the suspect and placed him in handcuffs.
Seven pairs of stolen sunglasses valued at approximately $2,492 were recovered.
Mark Busuito, 39, of Boston, was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of being a common and notorious thief and larceny over $1,200.
