Tractor-trailer crash blocks Interstate 91 in Putney

PUTNEY, VT — A tractor-trailer crash blocked both southbound lanes of Interstate 91 early Sunday morning.

Vermont State Police from the Westminster Barracks responded to the single-vehicle crash at mile marker 19.6 at 3:27 a.m.

Troopers found the tractor-trailer unit partially sideways, blocking the left and right lanes of southbound traffic.

The operator, Curtis Stewart, 52, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, was evaluated and cleared by emergency medical services at the scene.

No indicators of impairment were observed, police said.

Stewart was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

The 2021 Hyundai Translead Trailers vehicle was totaled.

Road conditions were icy at the time of the crash, though weather was clear.
