UTICA, NY — A 43-year-old man was arrested after allegedly threatening to return to a hospital with a gun following a disturbance in the lobby.
Douglas Brown, of Utica, was charged with making a threat of mass harm.
Utica Police units were dispatched to Wynn Hospital at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Nov. 25 regarding a disorderly individual yelling in the lobby.
Security staff removed Brown from the hospital, and while he was exiting, he threatened to return with a gun and harm people, police said.
Officers began searching for Brown after learning his identity.
Brown was later located, detained and transported to the Utica Police Department.
An Emergency Risk Protection Order was applied for and granted based on the threats made.
During a search of his residence, a BB gun pistol was located.
