CALEDONIA, NY — A York woman faces felony drug charges following a traffic stop in the Town of Caledonia.
Deputy Matt VanCuran conducted a traffic stop on West River Road on Nov. 25 at approximately 5:24 p.m. after observing violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, according to Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty.
The deputy made contact with the operator of the vehicle, who was identified as Heidi Savage, 50, of York.
The deputy suspected drug activity in the vehicle and conducted a roadside drug investigation.
Savage was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, according to the sheriff.
Savage was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree and violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Savage was transported to the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Savage was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Village of Mt. Morris Justice Finnigan.
The judge released Savage on her own recognizance due to the offenses not qualifying for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Savage at the court arraignment.
The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office represented the People.
The Caledonia Police Department assisted with the investigation.
