DUXBURY, MA — Two Rhode Island residents were arrested Sunday following an armed robbery and crime spree that spanned multiple South Shore communities.

Duxbury Police officers were dispatched to Arrowhead Road at approximately 2:30 p.m. following reports of suspicious activity and a disturbance.

A male victim reported that while walking down the street, a tan-colored sedan with Rhode Island license plates stopped abruptly in the roadway.

A male suspect exited the vehicle and approached the victim while brandishing a box cutter.

The suspect pressed the blade against the victim and demanded, “Give me everything.”

The suspect then forcibly took the victim’s Apple Watch and red jacket before fleeing in the vehicle, which was being driven by a female suspect.

The vehicle and suspects matched the description given by Plymouth and Kingston Police Departments in connection with similar crimes that had taken place in their towns earlier in the day.

The involved vehicle had been reported stolen out of Rhode Island.

A BOLO was immediately issued to surrounding towns, and Duxbury officers began searching the area.

Officers used the victim’s “Find My” app to track the direction of travel, which led them to a gas station in Pembroke.

Pembroke Police located the suspect vehicle and detained the occupants with the assistance of Massachusetts State Police.

Duxbury officers responded to the scene and placed Fernando Torres, 37, of Providence, and Victoria Lambert, 29, of Warwick, under arrest.

Numerous stolen items were recovered from the vehicle.

Torres is being charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, threat to commit a crime, assault and battery, and armed assault to rob a person over 60.

Lambert is being charged with accessory after the fact.

Additional charges from Kingston, Pembroke and Plymouth police departments are forthcoming.
