Man arrested on warrant in Jamaica

JAMAICA, NY — A 29-year-old man was arrested on a felony warrant on Nov. 17.

Tyheem U. Walls, of Jamaica, was apprehended at 5:30 a.m. by Clinton County Sheriff’s Deputies with assistance from the NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force and the U.S. Marshal’s Service.

Walls was wanted on an active warrant issued by Clinton County Court for failing to appear for arraignment following his indictment for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree in Clinton County in October.

He was originally arrested by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office on July 29 following a traffic stop in the Town of Plattsburgh.

Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree is a class A-II felony.

Upon transport back to Clinton County, Walls was arraigned in Clinton County Court.

He was committed to Clinton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash bail and $50,000/$100,000 bond.

Walls is set to reappear in Clinton County Court in December.
