Man arrested on drug charge in Cortlandville

CORTLANDVILLE, NY — A homeless man was arrested on a drug charge after deputies responded to a suspicious person complaint at an apartment complex early Friday.

Ian M. Bleck, 34, of Cortland, was arrested at approximately 1:14 a.m. Nov. 29 at the Sherbrook Apartments on Halstead Road.

Deputies from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the location at approximately 1 a.m. for a suspicious person complaint.

Upon arrival, officers located Bleck, who was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

Bleck was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a controlled substance, according to the sheriff’s office.

He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor.

Bleck was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

He was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process for his arrest warrant.

Bleck was issued an appearance ticket for the new charge and is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Town Court on Dec. 15 at 1 p.m.
