NORWOOD, MA — Norwood Police responded to 9 Hoyle Street shortly before 2 p.m. today after receiving a 911 call requesting assistance.
Upon arrival, officers located a male suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a statement from the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office.
The victim was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, where he was pronounced deceased.
The Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office are working with the Norwood Police Department to investigate the incident.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
Based on preliminary information, Norwood Police Chief Christopher Padden advises that there is no cause for the public to be alarmed for their own safety.
