CLIFTON PARK, NY — A three-vehicle crash on state Route 146 Wednesday led to the arrest of a driver on drunken driving charges.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at 4:38 p.m. on Route 146.
Scott P. Arenz, 59, of Albany, was charged with aggravated DWI, DWI and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, all unclassified misdemeanors.
He was also charged with failing to yield right of way while turning left, moving from lane unsafely and failing to obey a traffic control device, all infractions.
Arenz was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.21%.
He was traveling westbound on Route 146 when he attempted to make a left turn onto Moe Road and failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle traveling eastbound on Route 146, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The initial collision forced the vehicle he struck into a third vehicle that had been stopped in traffic on Moe Road.
The driver of the stopped vehicle complained of an injury but was not transported.
Arenz was released on appearance tickets pending proceedings in Clifton Park Town Court.
