NORTH TONAWANDA, NY — Police arrested a man early Saturday morning after a vehicle was stolen from Webster Street.
The North Tonawanda Police Department responded to the area at approximately 3:15 a.m. on Nov. 29 for a report of a vehicle theft.
Officers learned the vehicle had been stolen from in front of a business.
The vehicle’s owner attempted to confront the suspect and was dragged by the vehicle as it fled the scene.
The City of Tonawanda Police Department located and stopped the stolen vehicle a short time later in their jurisdiction.
The vehicle’s owner was also located in Tonawanda and was unharmed.
Sebastian Reid, 23, of North Tonawanda, was taken into custody.
Reid was charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony; aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, a class E felony; reckless endangerment in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor; unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor; and driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.
Reid was arraigned in North Tonawanda City Court and released on his own recognizance in accordance with New York State bail reform laws.
