SCHENEVUS, NY — A 24-year-old man has been arrested following a residential fire investigation in the Hamlet of Schenevus.
Austin M. Hitt, of Schenevus, was charged with fourth-degree arson, third-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief, according to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Hitt unlawfully entered a residence and intentionally set a fire inside.
He was arrested on Nov. 23 and held at the Otsego County Correctional Facility.
Hitt was arraigned at Otsego County Central Arraignment for the Town of Maryland Court and released under New York State Bail Reform Laws.
