PERTH AMBOY, NJ — The Perth Amboy Fire Department responded to a fire at a high-rise residential building on Nov. 26.
Firefighters were dispatched to 40 Fayette Street at 5:05 p.m. for a reported fire.
Arriving units found smoke coming from the first and second floors of the high-rise residential occupancy.
The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the kitchen of a first-floor unit.
A dog was found during the search and given oxygen with a pet rescue mask.
Once the smoke was ventilated from the upper floors, all residents were able to return to their units.
City relocation officers assisted four displaced occupants.
No injuries were reported.
The fire is under investigation by the PAFD Fire Investigation Unit.
City units on scene were E-1, E-2, T-2, T-3, R-1, C-1, C-3, C-4 and C-5.
