Two arrested on warrants in Weathersfield

WEATHERSFIELD, VT — Two people were arrested on multiple warrants following an hourlong standoff Nov. 25.

The Windsor County Sheriff’s Department responded to Bean Hill Lane at approximately 4:30 p.m. in an attempt to locate Roger Colby III, 41, of Weathersfield, who was wanted on multiple warrants in Vermont and New Hampshire.

Colby was wanted on charges of kidnapping, unlawful restraint in the second degree, aiding in the commission of a felony, simple assault, probation violation, receiving stolen property, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of fentanyl.

He also faced new charges from the sheriff’s department and Springfield Police Department for attempting to elude, gross negligent operation and other charges stemming from a pursuit Oct. 29 from Springfield to Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Deputies located Colby in a recreational vehicle on the property.

He surrendered to deputies after a standoff that lasted approximately one hour.

During the investigation, deputies also located Alyssa Rivera, 38, of Weathersfield, who had an extraditable New Hampshire warrant and a governor’s warrant from New Hampshire for possession of stolen property, theft by unauthorized taking and possession of heroin.

Rivera was brought to Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield to await extradition to New Hampshire.

Colby was transported to Springfield Police Department for processing before being lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility.
