CLINTON, ME — A man has been sentenced to 28 years in prison following his conviction on charges of sexually assaulting a child.
Christopher Connors was arrested in October 2023 following an investigation led by Sgt. Roger Smith of the Clinton Police Department into the sexual assault of a minor under the age of 12.
On Sept. 17, a jury found Connors guilty of gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.
He was sentenced Nov. 25 to 28 years in the custody of the Maine Department of Corrections.
The investigation involved coordination among multiple agencies, including the Waterville Police Department, Fairfield Police Department, Maine State Police Crime Laboratory, the Office of the District Attorney and victim advocacy professionals.
