SPRINGVILLE, NY — A 65-year-old man faces multiple felony charges following an investigation into alleged sexual offenses against a child.
Joseph Decker, of Springville, was arrested Nov. 25 by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office after an investigation that began Sept. 16.
Decker is accused of subjecting a child victim known to him to sexual contact on multiple occasions, according to Sheriff John C. Garcia.
The Erie County District Attorney’s Office secured an indictment charging Decker with predatory sexual assault against a child, first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
Decker was arraigned by Hon. Suzanne Maxwell Barnes of Erie County Court and remanded into custody.
He is being held at the Erie County Holding Center.
The investigation continues, and detectives are looking into whether there may be additional victims.
