MARSHALL, NY — A 31-year-old man was arrested following a domestic dispute investigation in the Town of Marshall.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Unit responded to an address in the Town of Marshall on Nov. 23 for reports of a domestic dispute.
Derek S. Schmidt, of Marshall, was arrested at the conclusion of the investigation due to New York State mandatory arrest requirements, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
Schmidt was charged with strangulation in the second degree, a Class D felony, aggravated harassment in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and unlawful imprisonment, a Class A misdemeanor.
Schmidt was processed at the Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Building where he was held pending an arraignment in CAP Court.
After arraignment, Schmidt was held on $2,500 cash bail and an order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
