HOLYOKE, MA — A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left a victim with serious injuries, police announced.
Ismael Ocasio, of Holyoke, was taken into custody Tuesday evening near the intersection of Main and Spring Streets.
The arrest stems from a stabbing that occurred around 7:05 p.m. Monday in the area of 13 Cabot Street.
Officers responding to the scene located an adult male stabbing victim who was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Detectives Ashley Feliciano and William Lebrun of the Holyoke Police Criminal Investigation Bureau identified Ocasio as a suspect.
At approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sergeant Dustin Summers along with Detectives Feliciano and Lebrun located and arrested Ocasio.
Detectives also recovered crack-cocaine from Ocasio during the arrest.
Ocasio is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed assault to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, and possession of a Class B drug.
