LEE, NY — A Rome man faces criminal charges following a single-vehicle crash on Elmer Hill Road on Nov. 25.

Alexander J. Sisti, 29, of Rome, was driving a 2016 Toyota Camry westbound on Elmer Hill Road at approximately 10:26 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol.

The vehicle left the roadway, damaged property, struck a tree and came to rest in the lawn of a nearby residence, Maciol said.

A passenger in the vehicle was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital by AmCare Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.

Deputies determined the passenger was a protected party in an active stay away order of protection between the two occupants of the vehicle.

Sisti was taken into custody and brought to Rome Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Upon discharge, he was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building, where he was booked and processed for criminal contempt in the second degree.

Sisti was turned over to Oneida County Jail to be held pending centralized arraignment.

He was also issued multiple vehicle and traffic law citations, returnable to Lee Town Court at a later date.

New York State Police, AmCare Ambulance, Lake Delta Fire Department and North Country Towing assisted at the scene.
