MOUNT MORRIS, NY — The Livingston County Drug Task Force reports the arrests of four Mount Morris residents following an investigation into crack cocaine sales in the Village of Mount Morris.
On November 20, members of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and the Mount Morris Police Department completed a search warrant in the Village of Mount Morris.
As a result, four individuals were charged with multiple drug related crimes.
Harry Diaz, 34, of Mount Morris, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a class C felony, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, class A misdemeanors.
Luis Chapman Jr., 35, of Mount Morris, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a class C felony.
Anthony C. Velazquez, 37, of Mount Morris, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a class C felony, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Travis Derrenbacher, 45, of Mount Morris, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a class C felony.
These arrests culminated from an investigation into the sale of crack cocaine in the Village of Mount Morris.
The investigation was handled by the Livingston County Drug Task Force.
All suspects were turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
The offenses did qualify for pre-arraignment detention under the NYS Justice Reform Act.
Diaz, Chapman, Velazquez, and Derrenbacher were all arraigned in front of Judge Bushnell of Geneseo Village Court.
Derrenbacher was released on his own recognizance as his charges did not qualify for bail under the NYS Justice Reform Act.
Diaz, Chapman, and Velazquez were all held without bail because each suspect has two or more prior felony convictions.
All suspects are scheduled to be back in the Village of Mount Morris Court on a later date for additional proceedings.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented all suspects at their court arraignments for their defenses.
The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was notified and did appear to represent the People.
