MARSHALL, NY — A contractor was arrested Nov. 24 in connection with a grand larceny investigation.

Scott Maury, 49, of Bouckville, was charged with one count of grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony.

A road patrol deputy was dispatched Sept. 9 to the town of Marshall for a grand larceny complaint.

The deputy learned the victim had paid a contractor $4,000 to purchase items that were to be used to complete work on her residence, but the contractor never completed the work.

The investigation was turned over to members of the Oneida County Criminal Investigations Unit.

Investigators learned Maury had cashed the $4,000 check the day it had been issued, but the money was not used to purchase items to complete the work on the victim’s residence.

Maury was escorted to the Oneida County Correctional Facility to await CAP Court.

He was released on his own recognizance following his arraignment.
