WESTFORD, VT — A St. Albans man was arrested on a DUI charge following a single-vehicle crash on Nov. 23.
State police were notified of a vehicle slide-off on Old Stage Road at approximately 4:50 p.m.
Troopers made contact with the operator, identified as William Thorp, 52, of St. Albans.
While speaking with Thorp at the scene, troopers identified indicators of impairment.
Following field sobriety exercises, Thorp was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.
He was transported to the Williston State Police Barracks for processing.
Thorp was then transported to Northwest Correctional Facility for detox.
He received a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Dec. 18 at 8:30 a.m.
