SAUGERTIES, NY — A 62-year-old man was arrested following a traffic stop on Nov. 22.
Stephen J. Hopf, of Saugerties, was taken into custody at about 6 p.m. by the Saugerties Police Department.
Hopf was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a felony.
He also faces a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and a violation of unlawful possession of toxic vapors.
Hopf was processed at the Saugerties Police Department and released on an appearance ticket.
He is scheduled to appear in Town of Saugerties Justice Court at a later date.
