NORTH TONAWANDA, NY — Police arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in the 500 block of Oliver Street.
Officers responded to the scene at approximately 6:25 p.m. on Nov. 20 after receiving a report of an armed robbery.
The victim was located and was unharmed in the incident.
Police confirmed an armed robbery had taken place and that the suspect had fled the scene.
The North Tonawanda Detective Bureau launched an investigation and identified a suspect.
A search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence on Nov. 22, during which the suspect was arrested.
Shawn J. Arcara, 58, of North Tonawanda, is charged with first-degree robbery, a class B felony; third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony; and second-degree menacing, a class A misdemeanor.
Arcara was arraigned in North Tonawanda City Court.
Due to his status as a multiple-time convicted felon, he was remanded to the Niagara County Jail to await further court proceedings.
